New features

  • Chat answers can now lay out requirement checks, procedure steps, option comparisons and key figures as dedicated blocks, with each check row showing whether the value meets its limit. Copying or exporting an answer keeps the status the page shows.
  • An answer's details now show how many credits it cost, and with your own provider key how many tokens. Hovering the line shows how much went to reading, writing and thinking.
  • The Aufwand slider in the chat input marks its five levels on the track, and the handle glides to the level you pick. With reduced motion turned on in your system settings, it moves there at once.
  • A dial beside the send button sets how long Piloti thinks before it answers, from faster to smarter, and each chat keeps its own setting. Administrators choose where a new chat starts under Organisation → Einstellungen.
  • You can now send feedback to the Piloti team from anywhere in the app: report a bug, suggest an idea, leave praise or ask a question from the avatar menu or the new button next to the inbox.
  • Word, Excel and PowerPoint files now open in the document viewer as a PDF preview, and a reference to one opens that preview instead of only offering a download. Download still gives you the original file, unchanged.
  • Pictures in Word and PowerPoint files are now read, so a photo or plan on a slide can be found and cited in an answer. Files uploaded earlier are read this way once you choose Erneut lesen in their menu.
  • A reference to a Word or PowerPoint file opens its preview at the page the passage came from.
  • An open file shows its summary, page count and tags as soon as indexing finishes, without closing and reopening it.
  • Opening a citation of a plan or photo now marks the drawing it refers to, such as the floor plan or the section, with a labelled box instead of only opening the page. The box shows which drawing on the sheet was read, not the exact object within it.
  • The Piloti website has a page on why Piloti, answering why not just ChatGPT and what an answer turns into in the project, and an honest comparison with Reiner AI, including where Reiner AI is ahead.
  • The website's main invitation is now to try Piloti with a real planning question from a current project; the prefilled email asks for the question, the location and the building type.
  • The Piloti homepage shows how much has shipped, counted from the changelog, with the latest week's first changes, and the Journal has three new articles on AI in the architecture office, ChatGPT for building law and knowledge from past projects.
  • The Piloti homepage and the why-Piloti page show a week of work handed to Piloti: a submission check given in one sentence, the task running, the report in the project, the open finding, the approval and the weekly recheck.
  • The Piloti website compares Piloti with ChatGPT, Copilot, NotebookLM, Perplexity, Reiner AI and other tools, and has a page on the building law and OIB edition of each state, ten use cases, pages per type of office and a glossary of building-law terms.

Improvements

  • When a document cannot be read, the file card, the preview, the upload list and the chat's file list now say why in plain language and what helps, for example reading it again or asking the admins to set up a vision model for scanned pages. The original error text is still there under "Details".
  • Reports, concepts and other PDFs uploaded to a project are now read section by section along their own headings, so an answer finds the passage that belongs to a heading even when it runs over a page break, and cites it by its section number and page.
  • Markdown, text and CSV files can now be cited and opened by section or by lines rather than only as a whole file, and every part of a long table, spreadsheet or CSV keeps its column headings.

Fixes

  • When the building-regulation search finds nothing that answers your question, Piloti now tells you it found no supporting passage, instead of answering from loosely related text.
  • Dateien and the Archiv now list up to 10,000 documents, and say so when a project has more. Before, only the newest 500 appeared, so older plans could not be found by search or filters, and a folder upload marked files that were already there as new.
  • An answer's details now show what the whole answer cost, where they showed about 0.1 credits for every answer. Your budget now counts the answer itself too, not only the suggestions that follow it.
  • In the effort slider the dotted trail no longer slides along with the handle. The dots stay in place and the handle uncovers them as it moves.
  • A question in the chat no longer shows „Denkt nach" forever when the server does not answer it. After half a minute without a reply it ends with an error you can retry.
  • The first question of a new chat is no longer lost when it is sent straight from a suggestion without typing.
  • A question you stopped before Piloti started on it is no longer sent again when the connection comes back.
  • When the chat reaches a server that runs a different version than the page, Piloti now says so, instead of asking you to check your network.
  • The first message of a new chat is saved even when Piloti is briefly busy. Before, such a chat could be missing from your history after a reload.
  • A chat answer no longer stays on "Denkt nach…" forever: when the assistant gets stuck, the answer now ends with an error message, and Stop always ends it. Time spent waiting for your reply to one of its questions does not count against it.
  • A question sent again after a short connection drop is no longer answered twice. The chat picks up the answer already being written.
  • A file whose reading was cut short by a restart of the service that reads it now shows as failed with a retry, instead of staying in progress forever and refusing to be read again. A restart while a Word or PowerPoint file is still being converted is not covered: that file stays at Wird gelesen until you choose Erneut lesen.
  • A PDF with a few damaged pages is now indexed up to its last page instead of stopping at the first damaged one; a PDF with too many damaged pages fails with a retry instead of being indexed with holes.
  • A large upload no longer shows as failed while it is still being read: it stays at Wird gelesen, a notice says reading continues in the background, and the file becomes citable once it is ready.
  • A file that cannot be read from storage now fails with a reason that says so.
  • Dateien and the Archiv now use one word for reading a document: Wird gelesen, Lesen fehlgeschlagen and Erneut lesen. Before, the same step appeared under five names.
  • The Archiv's Schnitt filter now says Schnitt / Ansicht, as in Dateien, because it also finds elevations.
  • The @ list shows your colleagues again as soon as the connection to the sign-in service recovers. Before, one failed lookup could leave it empty for several minutes.
  • An overview now shows its parts either as a table or as a mindmap, never both. The duplicate drawing used to appear while the answer arrived and then vanish when it finished.
  • Text and CSV files saved by Excel or older Windows programs keep their umlauts and ß. Before, those letters were silently dropped.
  • Spreadsheets with more than 1000 rows are now read in full up to 10,000 rows a sheet, and anything beyond that is stated rather than cut off without a word.
  • A project link with a mistyped or truncated address now shows the same "no access" page as any project you cannot open, instead of a general error page.
  • A scanned PDF is now read word for word, up to 500 pages, tables included, and the file says how many pages were left. Before, only its first 20 pages were looked at and those were described rather than read, so the conditions in a scanned permit could not be found.
  • A PDF whose text comes out as gibberish, as some drawing programs and scanners export it, is now read from the page itself, and the gibberish is no longer put into search.
  • A scanned PDF that cannot be read because no image model is set up now fails with that reason, rather than "no content extracted".
  • Deep research runs that have stopped now show as ended, including the ones already stuck on „Läuft". They used to keep a spinner in the chat list, and „Abbrechen" did nothing.
  • Tables without a caption in an uploaded PDF are now found as tables, rather than as scrambled text from the page. Charts in a PDF are now found too: before, they were read and then left out of search.
  • A PDF with a great many pictures is now read up to its 64 largest pictures, and a scanned page is read once rather than twice, so such files finish sooner.
  • Opening a menu or panel with a click no longer pops up the hint of its first help icon, as the Aufwand dial and the project choice in the chat input did. Hints now appear on hover, and when you reach them with the Tab key.
  • Uploading a large folder to the Archiv or to a project no longer stops the chat from saving answers for the next minute. A big upload now slows down when it reaches the limit instead of failing files, and "Retry all" sends the failed files a few at a time instead of all at once.
  • In Safari, opening a citation now marks the quoted passage in the document, as it does in Chrome and Firefox.

Answers now appear while Piloti writes them, with each reference checked in place, and come structured as tables, numbered steps and tabs for the variants you compare. An answer survives a dropped connection, and questions on garages and parking decks find OIB-Richtlinie 2.2.

New features

33
  • The answer details now show how long Piloti took, from sending the question to the finished answer. The figure stays after the conversation is reloaded.
  • Answers with cards (a legal basis, a table, a checklist, a process) arrive in one pass. The assistant now writes its cards together with the answer instead of in a separate step before it, so a card no longer adds a wait of its own, and a card whose details came out wrong is fixed quietly in the background rather than costing another pass.
  • Answers are structured instead of running prose: the first line answers with the value in bold, checks by building class appear as tables with references, procedures as numbered steps and outstanding items as a task list.
  • Piloti draws on its own where text carries a form badly, such as a branching procedure, who hands what to whom, or a construction schedule from the project documents. The drawing can be filed in the project.
  • Answers now appear while they are written: each reference takes its place at once, marked as being checked, and becomes a clickable source as soon as it is verified.
  • Title and summary stand above the answer before its first word, and a card keeps its place in the text instead of pushing down what you are reading. A colleague reading along sees the same answer with title, sources and cards.
  • Variants you compare, such as two design options, two provinces or existing and converted, appear as tabs, each with its own table; the Word export lists them one after another.
  • Check tables show their result up front, such as „2 erfüllt · 1 offen“, and on a phone wide tables stack row by row instead of scrolling sideways.
  • Diagrams are redesigned: processes as cards with labelled arrows, a body of rules as a tree, hand-overs as columns per party and dates as bars on a timeline.
  • Findings of a report live on in the project: an open finding can be pursued as its own task with Klären, and a finished report offers Bericht fortschreiben, whose new version marks each finding as new, changed or dropped.
  • The findings of a report go into the project memory as facts and open points.
  • A deep research report now opens with the verdict, summary and key points, followed by a findings matrix: one row per requirement checked, with value, reference and status. The Word export carries the same table.
  • While research runs, its block shows what is already evidenced in each round, and Jetzt schreiben ends the research after the current round and writes the report from what is there.
  • Piloti starts reading before it starts thinking: for a question about a regulation or a project file, it fetches the likely passages first, so most questions are answered one step sooner. The Herleitung shows this as the first search step.
  • Searches judge their own results faster: whether the first hits already answer the question is decided by the same fast decision model instead of a full language-model call, and only a search that came up short still asks for other wordings.
  • Follow-up questions such as „und in Gebäudeklasse 4?“ are answered from the passages the previous answer already read, so a follow-up takes one step instead of a new search.
  • Deep research no longer has a side panel: a run is a block in the chat that started it, with its state, findings per round, Jetzt schreiben, Abbrechen and finally the report.
  • The chat stays open during and after a deep research, so you can keep asking beside the run, and Bericht fortschreiben runs in the same chat.
  • Shorter answers keep their cards. A three-sentence reply with a table, a checklist or a diagram under it used to lose the card; the card stays from about three sentences of prose upward, and the working methods' own cards (fire compartments, guardrails, setbacks) are back in front of the assistant on the questions they belong to.
  • Questions that follow one of the office's working methods (Gebäudeklasse, Brandschutz, Einreichcheck, Bestand and the others) answer faster: a fast decision model recognises which method a question is the subject of and puts that one in front of the assistant from the start, instead of the assistant loading it in a separate step; the "Skills used" disclosure still names the ones it followed.
  • After creating an organization, a short tour walks through the project overview, and after the first project a second tour shows Frag Piloti, Dateien, the Archiv and how answers show their sources. Both can be skipped and restarted from the account menu.
  • People who are invited or join an existing project also get the tours, once each, on their first visit.
  • The page for setting up an organization is simpler: one field, one button and three lines on what happens next, with sign-out always at the top right.
  • Piloti has its own mark, a column whose capital is a rolled drawing, in the browser tab, on the home screen, next to the name and in PDF exports.
  • The website answers the most common questions about Piloti on its home page, and the blog can be followed by RSS in German and English.
  • The research plan is now a checklist: you can remove and add sections and choose the kind of report, such as Prüfbericht, Aktenvermerk or Vergleich, and its depth.
  • The plan you approve binds the research: its sections become the report's sections in that order.
  • Uploaded files get their tags for document type and discipline faster and more accurately. A discipline such as Brandschutz is only assigned when the document is actually about it.
  • In the research plan you choose under Unterlagen which documents from the project and office archive the research reads in full and which it never uses. Excluded documents are never cited, even when a search finds them.
  • While a run is going, Dokument hinzufügen adds another document, and the block shows whether each named document was read. A report names any it did not reach.
  • A results table in a comparison or file note is headed Ergebnisse, not Befunde, and passes no verdict the report did not reach.
  • On the Piloti website the example decision on a wide screen is wired left to right again, from the question through its sources into the decision and on to the next steps, and now looks like the phone version. The three sources are consulted at the same time.
  • The Piloti website is redesigned and works properly on a phone, with a section about the founding team and an invitation to become a pilot office. The blog has two strands, the Journal for offices and the Bautagebuch with notes from development.

Improvements

10
  • An answer now appears word by word at a steady pace, each new word emerging softly from a short fade behind the cursor. When the answer is finished, its last words follow quickly and only then do the reasoning panel fold away and the actions below the answer appear, in one step instead of several jumps.
  • While an answer is being written, Piloti now re-renders only the section that is still growing instead of the whole answer on every step. Long answers stay smooth to the end, even on a phone, at the same pace and with the same look as before.
  • Answers repeat themselves less: a lead that only restates the first paragraph is dropped, as is a mind map that only redraws the table beside it.
  • The Herleitung now builds up visibly while Piloti works: new steps and sources fade in, each new connector draws itself once, and the graph grows smoothly instead of jumping. A dot runs along the lines into the step in progress, on phone and desktop alike, and the graph costs less processing time at rest than before.
  • A finished Herleitung opens at once without animation, and anyone who has chosen reduced motion in their system settings sees none at all.
  • The Herleitung builds up more calmly while Piloti works: new steps and sources simply appear, and only the lines into the step in progress move. A finished Herleitung does not move at all.
  • The Piloti website loads faster, most of all on a phone. Pages travel compressed, and fonts, images and styles stay in the browser between visits instead of being fetched again on every page.
  • Source chips, reference numbers and source cards prepare their preview only when you touch them, so conversations and derivations open with less work. They behave as before with mouse, touch and keyboard.
  • Follow-up questions are answered sooner, because only the cited passages of the last answer travel with the conversation.
  • Three places in the app that have nothing to show yet now show a small print from the Piloti picture series instead of an icon: the project overview before the first project, a project's documents before the first upload, and the page for an address that does not exist.

Fixes

80
  • A cancelled, crashed or never-started run no longer shows as running forever in the task list. It now closes with its real outcome, and whoever started it is told.
  • When Piloti's reply breaks after its answer text, the chat now shows the answer instead of a block of raw data.
  • An answer is no longer lost when the connection drops briefly, for instance when you switch apps or lock your iPhone. When you return, the rest of the answer appears, even after reloading the page.
  • Mind maps show their branches without quotation marks, and on a phone only the outline appears instead of an unreadably small tree.
  • An answer whose sources are renumbered at the end no longer jumps back and retypes itself. The finished answer appears as the derivation folds away, and the first words appear at once.
  • Tables fill in cell by cell while Piloti writes, instead of stalling row by row.
  • The note on what Piloti is working on no longer flickers and is readable on a phone again.
  • The buttons in the derivation, for folding levels and viewing a source, respond to clicks and taps again. On the first question of a new chat the page no longer chases the growing derivation.
  • Chat stays smooth on a phone even with a long history: an answer being written no longer redraws earlier answers with every word, and typing no longer saves the whole history in the browser.
  • An answer is no longer lost because your device lost its connection: Piloti saves every finished answer itself and shows „Piloti arbeitet weiter“ until it is there.
  • The page stays smooth while an answer is arriving, even in a long conversation; it used to stutter and react late to typing.
  • Answers now appear evenly, word by word, instead of jumping a sentence at a time, and the page stays smooth on a phone too.
  • While Piloti works, its thinking indicator and the lines of the Herleitung no longer strain a phone.
  • An answer containing a drawing or code block no longer shows up as raw text.
  • Values from the tables of the OIB-Richtlinien, such as table 3 on stairwells, are now read correctly and cited with the table's page; the search used to mix up the columns for building classes.
  • Answers on the Bauordnung keep their RIS references and are faster, because a cited paragraph now arrives whole instead of in several pieces.
  • Questions on permit-free and notifiable building work in Salzburg are answered from the Baupolizeigesetz, and the Tiroler Bauordnung is read by paragraph.
  • Sketches are legible on a phone, and diagrams stay dark in dark mode instead of switching to the light palette from the third one on.
  • An answer being written no longer stalls while someone in the office loads the document list, deletes files or starts a research with a follow-up question.
  • Visiting piloti.at now opens the Piloti website instead of sending you to the test environment. Addresses starting with www lead to the same page.
  • A research run or task that finished during a brief outage now shows its result, instead of staying "running" with an empty message forever. Piloti checks unfinished runs regularly and fills in what was missed.
  • A German report now ends with Quellen instead of Sources, and the note on a cut-short report follows the report's language.
  • Finished research reports are filed as PDF in the project again. Since mid-September filing failed for every report, though the report stayed readable in the chat.
  • A brief outage now shows as a temporary problem with a request to try again, and a task started during it is no longer shown as failed while it runs.
  • Thumbnails in Dateien keep loading in a tab that has been open for days.
  • Files attached to a chat now go through the same checks as project files: file types that are not allowed are refused, and the file counts towards your office's storage. Each file shows its own upload progress and, if refused, the reason.
  • The file dialog in a chat no longer offers to delete project files, because that button removed nothing. Delete project files in the project's files; a chat's own attachments can still be deleted there.
  • A chat whose deletion failed because a service was briefly unavailable is now deleted automatically once the service is back, instead of staying hidden until someone deleted it again.
  • Deleting a chat now also removes every file attached to it from search. Before, the content of older attachments could stay findable after the chat was gone.
  • A chat answer that is still running no longer loses its connection when the browser tab is in the background or the phone signal is weak for a moment.
  • Stop now ends the answer: Piloti stops working on it, and what you had already read stays in the conversation, marked as stopped.
  • A long answer no longer freezes the page while it arrives, and its cards land when they are ready instead of long after the text.
  • A conversation from another device is no longer deleted when you open it after a reload and leave before its history has loaded.
  • If you write in a conversation before its history has arrived, the earlier messages still appear.
  • If you switch to another conversation during an answer and come back, the finished answer appears instead of a half sentence with a blinking cursor.
  • A task Piloti starts in a conversation, and a connection message, now appear in that conversation even if you have opened another one in the meantime.
  • A full browser storage no longer wipes your chat history: only the content of the oldest conversations makes room, while the list, titles and drafts stay. Such a conversation reloads its content from the server when you open it.
  • Sending, receiving an answer and switching conversations no longer stall a phone, because Piloti now saves only the conversation that changed.
  • A document deleted while it was still being read in no longer turns up in answers afterwards. Piloti now checks, once reading is done, that the document still exists, and drops what it read if it does not.
  • Deleting a document from a project or the Archiv now also deletes the images Piloti cut out of it. If the files cannot be deleted, the document stays in the list and Piloti reports the error instead of leaving the files behind.
  • Uploading the same file twice in quick succession now gives two separate, numbered versions instead of the second silently overwriting the first.
  • When two people, or Piloti and a person, save the same draft at once, one change wins and the other is told the draft has changed. Before, the second could silently overwrite the first.
  • When two people press Veröffentlichen at the same time, the second is told the version is already published instead of seeing an error.
  • Every new version now counts fully towards your storage, because earlier versions are kept. Before, repeated revisions could exceed the storage limit unnoticed.
  • Deleting a document with more than 500 versions now removes the files of every version, not only the first 500.
  • If a newly uploaded version of a file cannot be processed, for example a password-protected PDF, Piloti keeps finding the previous version. Before, the document was empty for search afterwards.
  • If a file is deleted right after someone uploaded it to a project or the Archiv, the upload now says so instead of reporting success.
  • Deleting an Archiv document or a chat attachment now also removes its version history.
  • When two people upload a file with the same name at the same time, both uploads succeed and the second becomes a new version of the first, instead of failing with a server error.
  • When two people open a draft of the same document at once, exactly one draft is created and the second person is told it already exists.
  • Creating a folder with a name that is already taken in that place now says the name is taken instead of showing a server error.
  • The reasoning view no longer shows empty "Search" steps for turns that read the building model or put files on screen. Those steps now list the model or the files they read, and a step that genuinely found nothing says "No hits" instead of looking like an unfinished search.
  • The derivation's header no longer counts steps; the count included internal status messages and read as if Piloti had needed many attempts. It now names only the sources.
  • The few fixed messages Piloti sends without research, such as a processing error or a search without usable sources, now appear in German and in the same register as its answers.
  • The answer details now open by themselves when an answer carries something that must not be missed: research that was cut short, removed evidence or low confidence.
  • Follow-up suggestions, the methods used and the answer header now survive a reload, a change of device and a colleague reading along.
  • The verdict in the answer header shows its confidence and reasoning again, and copied answers and Word exports no longer contain internal placeholders.
  • If a file is deleted while someone is uploading a new version of it, the upload now arrives as a new file in the project or the Archiv. Before, it reported success but the file appeared nowhere.
  • A card in a streamed answer now grows into its place in one smooth movement, without blinking or pushing the text twice. The answer also settles sooner at the end, because saving waits until it is on screen.
  • When Piloti files a draft, creates a task, gathers documents or suggests something to remember, its cards now appear while the answer is still being checked, instead of all at the very end.
  • Cards below an answer now appear as soon as Piloti has written them. Before, they waited until the whole answer was checked, up to twenty seconds on long answers.
  • A research run whose end the browser missed no longer locks the chat; a running research never blocks typing, renaming or deleting.
  • Your organization's model choice can be saved again; saving failed while a setting for a retired task was still stored.
  • Reloading the page while Piloti is still answering now shows the answer once, instead of leaving the unfinished start above the complete answer.
  • Uploading a new version of a file under the same name now keeps the document type, display title and folder set for the earlier version. Before, they were lost and Piloti guessed the document type from the file name again.
  • If a new version of a document cannot be processed, the preview now says that search and Piloti still use the previous version while the download already gives you the new file.
  • If processing a new version stops halfway, search finds only the previous version, with no fragments of the new one beside it. When two people upload a file under the same name at once, the version processed last is the one kept.
  • Questions on fire safety for garages, covered parking and parking decks are now answered from OIB-Richtlinie 2.2 and its explanatory notes. The search used to miss this Richtlinie and return excerpts from its list of changes.
  • When a new version of a file cannot be read, the file preview beside the chat now says that Piloti is still citing the previous version, instead of saying the file cannot be cited at all.
  • The Belegt durch line shows „+N weitere“ beyond eight sources and expands on request, and Alle Quellen kopieren always copies every source.
  • Footnotes in an answer follow your language and their jump links work again.
  • A quote that is not word for word in its source is marked as soon as the answer stands. A slightly misremembered quote is corrected to the source's wording, but only if the source the sentence names contains it.
  • A legal hold now prevents every deletion: a held document, Archiv document, chat or chat attachment can no longer be deleted. The hold applies when it is on the item, its project or chat, the person who created it, or your organisation.
  • Permanently deleting a project now waits if even one document or chat in it is on hold.
  • A question about several paragraphs, such as „§§ 3 bis 8“, now reads up to six of them in one step instead of only the first.
  • Your question stays at the top while the answer arrives, and a short answer no longer jumps down at the end.
  • A deep research that carries on after an interruption now keeps its progress instead of starting over.
  • The Piloti website opens on its earlier, calmer first screen under a smaller navigation bar, and its pages are quieter, with more of the riso prints beside the sections they illustrate and a tower crane on the changelog stamps. Every page now ends with an invitation to become a pilot office that opens a mail already half written.
  • The imprint and privacy policy no longer contain placeholders, and the website no longer claims that data and AI run only in the EU.
  • On the Piloti website the knowledge sources gather around Piloti again without lines breaking at the headline, and the example decision now shows why one way is chosen and the others are not.

Security

2
  • Which models Piloti uses, how much budget is left and which sources your office switched off are now decided by Piloti alone. A program connecting to the chat directly can no longer send its own values for them.
  • A chat connection now only works for the conversation it was opened for. Messages naming another conversation are refused.

Upgrade notes

1
  • A browser tab that was open during the update shows a connection error until it is reloaded.

Earlier changes

September 20262 weeks

Questions about Austrian law are answered with citable paragraphs from the RIS, and an office can give Piloti standing instructions that apply to every question. From 18 September deep research and the Automation section are switched on per office, on request.

New features

23
  • New tasks always deliver a researched report filed in the project, and setting one up takes three steps instead of four. Existing tasks keep their kind of result.
  • You can now hand Piloti recurring work in the chat: „prüf das jeden Montag“ creates a schedule that keeps running. Creating one needs the permission to manage schedules in the project.
  • Every start attempt now appears under Aufgaben, including runs that were skipped or failed before they began, each with its reason.
  • Clicking a row in the task list now opens the run itself, with the same rounds, sources and references as in the conversation, and a link to that conversation.
  • Automation has a week timetable: every scheduled run is a block in its slot, so overlaps and empty days show at a glance. Long empty hours fold into a marked break.
  • New schedules are set up in four steps, Auftrag, Ergebnis, Rhythmus and Prüfen, instead of on one page of sixteen fields, and the Rhythmus step shows the next three real dates.
  • A schedule can run on several weekdays, such as Monday, Wednesday and Friday, at any time of day you choose.
  • A finished task becomes a schedule with one click on Als Zeitplan speichern, with its request already filled in.
  • An open file now has its own address: the link can be shared, and Back closes the preview instead of leaving Dateien.
  • When Piloti researches a question in depth, it now shows as a task in the conversation, with phases, rounds, documents and running time; it can be cancelled and its report is filed.
  • What the conversation has already settled, such as your answers to Piloti's questions, goes into the research instead of being asked again.
  • A task you hand to Piloti now appears as a block in the conversation where you gave it: title, state, phases and running time, updating live, with the finished report beneath it.
  • In the task list a running card shows in one line what the task is doing, such as „Recherchieren · 3 Runden · 9 Dokumente“.
  • A running task can be cancelled from its block. The research so far stays; only the report is not written.
  • Questions about Austrian law are now answered with citable paragraphs from the RIS, each with the reference a Bescheid would use, such as „Bauordnung für Wien, § 63 Abs 1“. The paragraph is listed as a source and can go straight into your text.
  • A task now runs in the conversation it was given in, with progress and report as one message there. A recurring task gets its own conversation, where each run appears under the last.
  • What a task did stays with its report, including its phases, the aim of each research round and the documents it opened, instead of expiring after 24 hours.
  • The skill editor is now a three-step wizard: name and description, then instructions, then the check. Rarely needed settings sit behind Erweitert.
  • Findings of the skill check now appear under the field they concern, and Erneut prüfen checks the revised text; a finding on text that has since changed is marked as outdated.
  • Your organization can now give Piloti standing instructions under Organisation, Anweisungen, such as result first, then reasons, or assume Vienna when no province is named. They apply to every question from everyone in the office.
  • Standing instructions shape form and focus only, up to 1,500 characters, and never supply a normative value; an OIB requirement always comes from the Richtlinie Piloti opened. Each change is saved with name and time.
  • A task can now run once on a date you choose, recur, or run only when you start it. A one-off task such as checking the Einreichplanung the day before the Abgabe no longer needs a weekly schedule you have to delete afterwards.
  • The Automation section now has two tabs: Tasks and Skills. A task can carry its own schedule, and the week timetable is a view inside Tasks rather than a place of its own — old Zeitplan links keep working.

Improvements

25
  • Tasks and schedules are one list, schedules on top and single runs below, and schedules are created and edited right there. Old links to the Jobs tab still land in the right place.
  • A task now leads to the conversation it runs in; the three separate views of the same run are gone. A run without a chat shows its state without a dead link.
  • Each task is a card that opens its details, grouped by today, yesterday and this week, with a coloured status mark and filters for running, unreviewed and failed work.
  • Schedule cards now show the request in its own words rather than the skill it uses, and a schedule can be deleted again.
  • Freigabe und Fassungen now sits folded at the end of the file info and shows the state, the path from draft to published and what the file is waiting for. It opens by itself when a version is waiting for you.
  • Each step of the Herleitung now opens with what Piloti set out to do, then lists every document once with the points or pages it read. Five points of one Richtlinie are one card with five references.
  • Bereits abgerufen now marks only a passage that really was fetched again.
  • Answers with several cards arrive sooner, because Piloti now builds the cards of an answer together instead of one after another.
  • If the overview of a Richtlinie family cannot be built, Piloti says so in the Herleitung and opens the parts one by one.
  • Ask about the building model in a project that has none, and Piloti now says so at once and answers the rest of your question.
  • The status line above the Herleitung says what Piloti is searching for, and once the research is done, that the answer is being written.
  • A question about a whole Richtlinie or a project file now opens the document's outline first, so Piloti sees which points exist instead of guessing a number. The answer names the points it actually read.
  • The Herleitung shows for every research step what was opened in each document, by page or point.
  • The research steps of an answer now cost less and wait less, because the unchanging part of every request is cached at the model provider. The answer itself does not change.
  • Piloti now chooses its source by the question rather than by a fixed order, so a question about the Bauordnung goes where the Bauordnung is. Every value it states still comes from a passage it read in that answer.
  • A question that touches the Richtlinien, the RIS and the web now checks all three in its first round instead of saving one for later.
  • An answer with a card now takes one step less.
  • Legal research is now one step in the Herleitung and returns the paragraph in question, instead of a hit list, the whole law and text without a reference.
  • Naming a skill with a slash now simply writes its name into your message, and Piloti picks that skill from there. What reaches Piloti is exactly the text you sent.
  • Piloti now chooses skills itself: it reads each available skill's short description and loads the instructions when they fit the question. The answer still names the skills that shaped it.
  • Finishing a new task now offers "Create and run now", so you can see the first result immediately instead of waiting for the next scheduled time to find out whether the request says what you meant.
  • Skills can now be arranged into categories, curated by Piloti or by your own organization. The Skills tab groups both halves onto them, with search, counts and a detail view for every skill.
  • Deep research now shows its Herleitung like the chat does: for each round, what it wanted to settle and which passages it opened for that.
  • A question about a whole Richtlinie, such as „Was weißt du über die OIB 2?“, is now answered from one search covering every part on file: the scope of each part as a citable passage, with its outline beneath.
  • In the Herleitung a passage read by point now shows the point, such as „Pkt. 3.5.2“, before the page.

Fixes

15
  • A finished task that filed no document and opened no chat now opens the report of its run, and a failed one its reasoning.
  • Clicking a file always opens it; clicking the file that was already open no longer closes it.
  • A document stuck on "processing" after an ingestion job was lost can now be retried from its menu instead of deleted and re-uploaded. The retry keeps the document, so sources, chat references and assignments survive, and it refuses while ingestion is genuinely still running.
  • A document whose indexing never started no longer wears a green "citable" badge. It now reports a failure with a retry, or a neutral stored state for rows filed before this change.
  • Each document state now has one name everywhere: Zitierbar, and Wird verarbeitet while a file is being read, instead of three different labels.
  • A failed lookup no longer shows up as a source in the Herleitung.
  • Archivieren is now called Stilllegen, since filing into the Archiv is what makes a document part of the office's knowledge. Stilllegen asks first and says what it does: the file leaves the list, Piloti stops citing it, nothing is deleted.
  • Plans that show several drawings on one sheet, such as two floor plans side by side, are now read and indexed as separate depictions instead of a single merged description. The detailed information view also says which of the sheet's depictions each entry describes.
  • Piloti no longer fetches the same passage twice within one answer and spends the saved lookups on the actual research.
  • Downloading an answer as PDF no longer fails on certain reports. Exports that previously ended in an error now produce the document.
  • Usage reports now list cached input tokens separately, so usage and cost no longer look higher than they were.
  • On a phone, the last filter in the Tasks list ran off the edge of the card and could not be reached. Filter rows and view switchers now stay inside their card and scroll sideways when the labels do not fit.
  • The sliding marker on a filter row or view switcher now stays inside the control it belongs to. Where two sat on one screen — the Liste/Zeitplan switcher above the Tasks filters — pressing one made the marker fly across to the other and back.
  • A one-off task now has the same colour on its card as its block in the timetable.
  • Quotes from a passage Piloti opened directly now stay in the answer. They used to fail the check, leaving the answer without evidence.

Deprecations

1
  • Deep research and the Automation section are switched off for now; questions are answered in chat as before, and published skills keep working there. Talk to us if your office needs either, we can switch them on per organization.

Upgrade notes

6
  • A task no longer attaches a skill; you name it in the request itself with the same / menu as in the chat. Existing schedules keep running unchanged.
  • The skill check is now a step you run before saving. Its findings are yours to weigh and never block saving.
  • Austrian legal texts from the RIS are now part of every task, like your project documents; only web search remains optional. Existing tasks pick up the RIS on their next run.
  • The Agent darf selbst laden switch is gone from the skill editor; Piloti decides which skills to consider. Saved skills are unchanged and available again.
  • Skills the platform used to run for every organization are now offered on your Skills tab, switched off until someone switches them on. What should apply to every answer in your office now belongs under Organisation, Anweisungen.
  • A skill your organization writes may now carry any name; if it shares a name with an offered skill, yours applies.

Files now have versions and an approval path: submit, approve, publish. Piloti can write an Aktenvermerk, a Protokoll or a checklist as a draft and file it in the project when you ask. Usage is shown in points instead of euros, so check your budget limits once.

New features

40
  • A project's Automation section has a new Tasks tab. It lists the work handed to Piloti — from a chat, from a review decision, or from a job on its schedule — with what was asked for, how far it got, how it was judged, and a link to the document or the chat the result ended up in.
  • Piloti now takes on work that lasts longer than an answer: „Mach den Einreichcheck bis Freitag“ creates a task that runs on its own, under your name and permissions, and reports back when done.
  • Send a draft back with Änderungen anfordern and Piloti revises it from your reason, producing the next version of the same document rather than a second one.
  • Automations now live in one Aufgaben list: one-shot delegations and scheduled templates share the same rows, with the rhythm and the next run shown inline, and every run opens in a detail view with its result.
  • Every file now has a version history: uploading a corrected file under the same name replaces it, and the old version stays available to open, with who uploaded which version when.
  • A version can be submitted for approval: the reviewer gets an inbox entry and can approve, ask for changes or reject, the latter two with a reason. Whoever submitted a version cannot approve it.
  • Approving and publishing are two steps, so a finding approved on Tuesday can be published with the submission on Friday. Exactly one version is published at a time.
  • Documents can be archived: they leave the lists while the file and all its versions are kept.
  • Dateien now shows each file's state: draft, in review, changes requested, approved, published, replaced, rejected or archived. The label appears only on files with more than one version and on everything Piloti wrote.
  • The file view offers only the approval steps your role and the file's state allow, and the inbox entry for a submitted version names the file and links to it.
  • The version list shows who submitted, approved and published each version, and any version can be opened, including a replaced one.
  • A Freigabe ausstehend filter sits beside Unvergeben and Von Piloti and combines with both.
  • If two people decide at the same moment, the second is told the state has changed and sees what happened.
  • Every document now has Besprechen, in Dateien, on the report card in the chat and on the approval request in the inbox. It opens a conversation about exactly that file.
  • Sending a document for review now asks for a reviewer and a one-sentence order before it can go out, and approving takes an explicit confirmation that names the version and the date.
  • Review requests can now be decided directly in the inbox — approve, ask for changes, or reject — with the order, the deadline, and a link to the file right on the row.
  • Mit … vergleichen now shows what changed between two versions, line by line: added lines with a plus and a solid rule, removed lines with a minus and a dashed rule. Long unchanged stretches fold into a counted gap.
  • Right-click in a project's Files works the way Finder and Explorer taught it: a file, a folder, and the empty listing each open their own menu. The ⋯ on a file or folder offers the same operations and stays, so the menu is still there if you never right-click.
  • A document Piloti wrote only becomes searchable once someone in your office has approved and published it. Drafts, documents in review and rejected ones stay out of the index.
  • When Piloti searches more than once, the Herleitung now shows the conclusion that caused the next fetch — what it knew, what it still needed — instead of repeating the search query.
  • Under a longer answer in a project, Als Aktenvermerk schreiben fills the message box with the request, and Piloti then writes a draft into the project files.
  • Each search step of the Herleitung can now be folded. With three or more steps it arrives folded with only the latest open, so the conclusion stays in view.
  • When Piloti searches more than once, the Herleitung now shows each conclusion with the files that fetch returned and the tools it used — not one pile of sources at the end.
  • Piloti now opens the exact Stelle a conclusion names — „OIB-Richtlinie 2, Pkt. 3.5.2" — instead of searching for it a second time, and its first round is limited to two searches so the second one can be precise.
  • A document Piloti wrote and your office released can now be cited like any other source, and it says so: it appears as a Piloti-Dokument, with the name of the person who approved it and the date they did, both in the answer's sources and in the office colour rather than the colour of building law.
  • A draft Piloti wrote can now be put into the project. Ask for it — "leg das ins Projekt", "ablegen" — and the document appears in Files, marked as a draft, with the card beside the answer linking straight to it.
  • Asking a second time updates the same document instead of leaving a second copy beside the first, so a conversation that revises an Aktenvermerk three times ends with one file and its history rather than three files.
  • A filed draft can be sent for approval, from the card or by asking Piloti, and it then appears in the reviewer's inbox. Approving, publishing and archiving stay where they were: they are things a person does, and Piloti cannot do them at all.
  • Piloti can now help tidy the project files. Ask it to move something into a folder, rename a file, create a folder or hand a document to a colleague, and it puts the change on a card beside the answer for you to apply or discard.
  • A request that touches several files at once — putting the submission documents together, for instance — arrives as one card listing every move, so it is one decision rather than one per file.
  • Sending a version back for changes now has a second form: „Piloti überarbeiten lassen" stands beside „Änderungen anfordern" in Freigabe und Fassungen and asks for the same written reason, and Piloti then drafts the next version and submits it for approval instead of leaving the work with whoever wrote it.
  • Piloti can now write a document instead of describing one. Ask for an Aktenvermerk, a Protokoll, a Checkliste, a Flächenaufstellung or a Konzeptentwurf, and the finished text is written into a working folder that belongs to this conversation, with a card beside the answer naming what was written.
  • A follow-up like "kürze Punkt 3" changes that document in place instead of producing a second version of it, so the conversation keeps working on one draft rather than on a growing pile of near-copies.
  • Usage and budgets are now shown in points instead of euros, on the usage page, in the limits per organization, member and project, and in the model picker.
  • The model picker shows roughly how many points a typical question costs on each model, so a cheap model can be told from an expensive one at a glance.
  • Organizations that use Piloti with their own provider key see tokens instead of points, and can set their limits in tokens.
  • Answers now say what else they read. The answer details disclose the documents Piloti retrieved but did not cite, as quiet document chips — so you can see the breadth of the research behind an answer, without those documents grounding any claim in it.
  • Answers now open with a proper masthead no matter the question: overviews get a title and scope line, legal rulings keep their verdict header, and single-norm answers quote the decisive passage directly beneath it.
  • Drafts Piloti writes can now be opened and read straight from the chat, before anything is filed into the project.
  • Deep-research runs that never finish can now be stopped from the chat history: every run that is still marked as running gets a stop action, and a single control clears all stuck runs at once. Stopped runs no longer block their chat from being renamed or deleted.

Improvements

31
  • Piloti now answers as a colleague in the planning office rather than as a compliance checker, so summarising a plan or sorting drawings no longer ends in a verdict. It helps you apply a rule and does not replace the Entwurfsverfasser or the Behörde.
  • Archiving a file now takes it out of the file list, which is what archiving was always meant to mean. A new filter shows the archived files again whenever you want them back; nothing is deleted either way.
  • When a draft is submitted for approval, you can now name who should look at it. Leave it as it is and everyone who may release files in the project is asked, so a draft nobody has taken on still reaches somebody.
  • The Aufgaben list now stays current while it is visible and refreshes when you return to it, instead of showing the state from when the tab was opened. Early submission states also read as queued work rather than as raw technical labels.
  • Task states stay live while the panel is open and speak planner words, so finished work no longer looks like it is still running.
  • Piloti can now discuss a draft nobody has published yet, reading the version directly, and from that conversation change it into the next version of the same document.
  • Every file Piloti creates now says where it comes from: a line at the top names Piloti and your office, and a footer on each page marks it as an unapproved draft.
  • Each such document also states that Piloti wrote the content and that professional responsibility lies with whoever approves it. The statement is in the file and survives forwarding, printing and submitting.
  • Document cards and lists lead with the title and the review state instead of version counters, and a version history only appears once a second version exists.
  • Approving and publishing are two visibly separate acts, so a released review can never look like a filed submission.
  • Two identical versions are reported in a sentence instead of an empty list, and the comparison uses marks and strokes rather than red and green, which in Piloti mean where something comes from.
  • When something fails, the error message now carries a short reference for support that you can copy with one click.
  • An archived document no longer turns up as a source in answers, whoever wrote it. The file and its versions stay where they were; archiving is not deleting.
  • When a new version is published, the previous one leaves the index before the new one enters it, so Piloti never answers out of a version that has just been replaced. The older bytes stay in the version list and can still be opened.
  • An empty project chat now says in one sentence that Piloti also writes file notes, notes and drafts on request.
  • Such a document is never presented as the legal basis of an answer. Piloti quotes it for what your office decided and reaches for the OIB Richtlinien or the Bauordnung for what is required, so an approved office document can never end up standing in for a requirement.
  • Nothing Piloti files is approved or searchable. It arrives as a draft, says so on the card and in the answer, and only a version somebody has approved and published is ever added to what search can find.
  • Filing happens under your own name and your own permissions. Piloti files as the person who asked, so a document it puts into a project is one you could have put there yourself — and the trail says who asked for it.
  • Nothing is changed until you press Apply, and the change then runs as you, with your own permissions. Piloti never says a file has been moved, renamed or handed over while the card is still waiting.
  • If part of a batch cannot be applied — a file somebody already moved, a colleague who has left the project — the card says which entries did not go through instead of reporting the whole thing as done.
  • The working folder belongs to the conversation and nothing in it is filed, indexed or quoted as a source. A draft becomes a project document only when somebody takes it into the project.
  • When Piloti proposes a research plan and you reply in your own words, it now revises the plan with your answer. A plain no still skips the plan and answers directly.
  • Organizations with their own model key now use it for ranking search results too; those calls always went through the platform key.
  • The usage overview now includes the model calls Piloti makes to rank passages before it answers, which used to appear on no bill and in no budget.
  • Overviews carry a summary and the key points again, and follow-up suggestions come from the actual gaps in the answer.
  • The Herleitung names what was actually searched instead of calling every search OIB knowledge.
  • Answers in chat arrive sooner: Piloti now prepares its project memory, feedback lessons and settings at the same time instead of one after another.
  • Choosing the passages for an answer is much faster, because a purpose-built ranking model now replaces a language-model call that could take ten seconds.
  • Opening a project and starting a chat are faster because permissions are briefly cached. A changed project role takes effect within thirty seconds.
  • A deep research reports itself finished as soon as the report is ready, and an answer that is revised after checking looks up its missing evidence in parallel.
  • A missing chat permission now names Piloti, not a research agent. The Herleitung's last node is the stand of what was read, not an Einschaetzung of the answer.

Fixes

24
  • Uploading a corrected version of a file that is already in a project works again. The upload was refused while the previous version was still the published one.
  • Whoever commissioned a report can now release it themselves. Piloti files a report in the name of the person who asked for it, and that person was being treated as its author and refused the approval.
  • A document Piloti revises keeps the line that says it was written with Piloti. Only the first draft carried it; every later version arrived without it.
  • Superseded and unpublished versions of a file now count towards the storage a workspace uses. They were being kept and not counted, so the figure shown was lower than what was actually stored.
  • The assistant could not start, so questions went unanswered. It starts again.
  • Raw submission words no longer leak onto task rows, and scheduled results link back to the task instead of getting lost in chat history.
  • Evidence under an answer no longer appears twice when the answer spells a Richtlinie differently in the text and in its source list.
  • Documents whose preview image never finished generating now show the regular placeholder instead of a broken image. Once the preview exists, the card picks it up on its own.
  • A member budget can no longer be set for someone who does not belong to the organization; such a limit used to be saved and never applied.
  • A document Piloti wrote can no longer take the file name of a document someone uploaded, such as the one it was written from.
  • On a phone, the document type in the file preview header is shortened instead of running under the buttons.
  • When Piloti searches twice, each step of the Herleitung now shows the files of that search instead of listing both on the first. A summary is no longer presented as a ruling by mistake.
  • The compliance check now takes requirements only from the Richtlinien and evidence only from your own documents, including the office archive. A requirement can no longer count as documented just because the Richtlinie states it.
  • The source chips under an answer keep their lane colours. Grey chips read as broken references, so where each source stands stays visible at a glance, no matter what the answer above them looks like.
  • Notes taken automatically after an answer now record how important they are, so the ones that matter appear first in the project memory. Until now they were all filed as equally important.
  • Piloti no longer ends a conversation without noting what it learned about the project. Its note limit now counts only the notes it actually keeps.
  • A question about a whole OIB-Richtlinie now reads every part of it — OIB-Richtlinie 2 covers 2, 2.1, 2.2 and 2.3 — and says plainly when a part was not read, instead of quietly answering from the parts it happened to find.
  • Reacting to an answer's cards no longer fails on answers whose stored content carries invisible control characters from an imported document. The update is saved as before, minus the one character the database cannot hold.
  • The „Unterhaltung öffnen" link on a task card now opens the conversation the task is running in. It pointed at an address that did not exist, so the one control on the card led nowhere.
  • Under Belegt durch each source now appears exactly once, with its reference. The same source could appear twice, once as a dead chip.
  • Piloti no longer runs the same Richtlinie search twice when the whole family was already retrieved, and follow-up file requests no longer trigger a format interrogation.
  • Long text documents now scroll correctly in the side preview.
  • One chat loading its organization's settings no longer briefly holds up everyone else's conversations.
  • Research runs that had already finished on the server while the history still showed them as running now settle to their real outcome when stopped, instead of staying stuck. Stopping a run asks for confirmation first.

Upgrade notes

4
  • A finished research report is now filed as a draft and put to you for approval, instead of standing in the project like a checked file.
  • Every existing document, including Piloti's reports, starts with one published version, so nothing lands in a review queue.
  • Replaced versions keep their files and count towards your organization's storage quota.
  • Existing budget limits were converted from euros to points. Check your organization, member and project limits once and adjust them if the new values are not what you meant.
August 20263 weeks

Piloti can look at your plans as images, and references now name the point of the Richtlinie, not just the page. Legal sources from the RIS open inside Piloti with the cited passage highlighted, and whole folders can be uploaded and matched against the project.

New features

24
  • Piloti can now look at your plans. When a question turns on what a floor plan or section shows, it opens the page as an image instead of relying on the text description made at upload.
  • When a scheduled task finishes or fails, you now hear about it in your inbox, with a link to the project's run history.
  • A scheduled research task now files its report under Berichte in the project, with the permissions of whoever set it up. The report of a nightly run used to expire after a day if nobody opened it.
  • A finished task can be accepted or rejected with a reason, and the reason reaches the next run of the same task, so a correction such as „Atrium ist OIB 2.3“ is made once.
  • A reference now names the point of the Richtlinie, not just the page: „Pkt. 3.5.2 · S. 7“ instead of „S. 7“. That is how building law is cited, and it survives a reload and a shared conversation.
  • Answers now lead with their essentials: the verdict as a copyable value above the answer, the key points beneath it, and at most one note on what changes your next step.
  • Dateien has a filter menu by responsibility, origin, status and file type, with sorting, and a number on the button shows how many filters are active.
  • Sorting now applies to both the list and the card view, so switching views keeps the order you chose.
  • When an answer names a file, such as „Beginnen Sie mit pd8280-2.pdf“, the name is now a link that opens the document beside the answer, in running text and in tables alike.
  • Hovering a file name shows where it comes from, its format, size and page count, its short description and whether Piloti has read it. Only names of documents you actually have become links.
  • Files can now be dragged into a folder, or onto Alle Dateien in the path bar to take them out again. The target folder lights up while you hover over it.
  • Whole folders can now be uploaded, with Ordner hochladen or by dragging the folder onto the file list, with every level beneath it. Files Piloti cannot read are rejected one by one, not the whole folder.
  • The detail view shows where a file came from on your office server, and one click copies the path so you can keep working on the original.
  • An IFC file now behaves the same everywhere: a click opens a preview with the building in it, and a button below leads into the model area.
  • The model area is now reachable from the office archive, with structure, quantities and revisions. The Prüfbuch still needs a project, because it checks against building class and main use.
  • Almost every answer now opens with a one- or two-sentence summary of the result and its decisive limitation, right under the verdict when there is one.
  • Folders in project files now have their own address: Back goes up one level, reloading stays in the open folder, and a folder can be shared as a link.
  • Above the folder view, a named way back such as „Zurück zu Planung“ now accompanies the breadcrumb trail.
  • Documents can now also be dragged into a folder in the list view, not only in the card view.
  • Folders can now be dragged onto another folder, or onto Alle Dateien to move them back to the top. A folder never lights up as a target inside itself.
  • An uploaded folder is now matched against the project: Piloti recognises existing folders, even when spelled differently or coming from a Mac, creates only the missing ones and files every document where it stood in the folder tree.
  • Before uploading, Piloti tells you how many documents are new, changed or unchanged, and you decide with a tick whether changed ones are updated. Unchanged files are skipped.
  • Legal sources from the RIS now open inside Piloti instead of a new browser tab, with the cited passage highlighted and the reference ready to copy as a citation. The link to the official RIS publication stays in the window header.
  • Text, Markdown and CSV files can now be read directly in Piloti. A Markdown checklist appears as a checklist and a CSV file as a table, including semicolon-separated exports from a German Excel.

Improvements

29
  • If the document viewer cannot find a quoted passage on the stated page or its neighbours, it now looks one page further in both directions, since a title page and contents often shift the numbering by two.
  • In the Herleitung, documents that were read but not cited now also carry the label and colour of where they come from: project, office archive or this chat.
  • What Piloti searched for in an answer now survives a reload and is visible to colleagues in a shared conversation.
  • Piloti remembers your decisions on its suggestions: a rejected suggestion or discarded note does not come back in the next answer.
  • A background task now works with the same knowledge as the chat: it reads the project memory, writes its own notes and checks its report against what the project already knows.
  • Project memory now finds older notes when they fit the question, and a correction reaches the note it means, however long ago it was written.
  • Finished answers appear at once instead of being typed out character by character.
  • Every answer, including long research reports, now follows the same style: the answer first, caveats last and one at a time, numbers written as the Richtlinie writes them.
  • Comparison and data tables in chat cards are now set in normal text size instead of the smallest type, and column headings stand out by weight.
  • The message box is grey and black again instead of green while you type. In Piloti green marks where a source comes from, and two greens on top of each other could not be told apart.
  • Clicking a file name in an answer now also points your next question at that document: the message box says „Fragen zu …“ and the search runs in that file. The ✕ ends it.
  • A document Piloti has not read only opens; the preview explains on hover why it cannot be asked about.
  • A research report can now show a file from the project or the office archive as a card, as the chat already could.
  • „Zitierbar" no longer appears on every file. A status shows only when it changes what you can do next — a document still being read, one that failed, or a report Piloti wrote and deliberately never indexed.
  • The header of the file preview now holds only the name, the kind of document and the controls for the file. Who created it, who is responsible and „Piloti dazu fragen“ moved into the panel beside it.
  • When two sources contradict each other, Piloti now shows the difference, names both with their reference and says which rule decides, or that the sources cannot settle it.
  • A caveat now sits next to the paragraph it concerns instead of at the end of the answer.
  • Answers read as one document: the verdict heads the text, the key points close it, and cards sit on a quiet background instead of in framed boxes.
  • Every question now reaches Piloti with all its tools, so „zeig mir die Grundrisse“ or „was weißt du über das Projekt“ can show and read files instead of answering from the project profile alone.
  • In the Herleitung, project documents, the office archive and chat attachments now each have their own label and colour instead of all appearing as building law.
  • When Piloti hands a question to deep research, it now says why in its own words, shown in the Herleitung.
  • An answer with sound references and one quote that could not be confirmed word for word is now rated medium instead of low, and the quote stays marked.
  • A deleted document now also disappears from what Piloti knows about the project.
  • Answers scan cleaner: sources, export actions and the rating thumbs stay visible while confidence, notes and metadata live behind one details line. Tabs, view switchers and navigation now glide an active pill instead of snapping, and sections unfold smoothly instead of jumping open.
  • The interface feels calmer and more responsive: buttons answer every press with a subtle dip, copying an answer pops a check mark, and loading placeholders shimmer instead of flashing grey.
  • Each line of Das Wichtigste now carries what you would write down, the number, the class or the deadline. Expanded, it shows the reference, the derivation or the case in which it does not apply.
  • A photo or scanned drawing inside an uploaded PDF can now be viewed by Piloti on its own and at full resolution, instead of only as part of the rendered page.
  • Text in a source document can now be selected and copied, and on request a selection becomes a ready citation with document and page, in the same form as citations from answers.
  • The list of references now always sits beside the document and shows which passage you are reading, and the toolbar shows the page you are on.

Fixes

57
  • Project memory now merges a reworded insight with the note it already has, instead of storing the same fact twice.
  • An answer that touches several documents cites several again. A single PDF could fill every evidence slot of an answer.
  • A quote that leaves out or adds a whole word no longer counts as verbatim, so a quote that lost a „nicht“ cannot pass as checked.
  • When a reference or quote fails the check, Piloti now searches once more for the passage and rewrites the answer before it appears. If it still fails, the mark stays.
  • A research run that hits your organization's budget now says so and tells you where an admin can raise the limit, instead of reporting an internal error.
  • A single source that does not answer in time no longer ends a deep research; the run carries on without it.
  • The source list of a research report now carries the same numbers the report cites with, so [3] in the text points to the third entry.
  • A date in a project note, such as a submission deadline, is no longer mistaken for a phone number and dropped.
  • An OIB document from an edition other than May 2023 now carries its correct edition in the title.
  • Rating an answer as not helpful no longer pulls the footer under it out of shape. The question about what went wrong, the four reasons and the note field now open on their own line, aligned with the answer above them, while the copy and export buttons stay on the line they were on.
  • Every finished answer can now be copied. An answer that cites no source — a clarifying question, a short conversational reply — offered only the Word download before, so there was no way to take a sentence from it into an e-mail.
  • A question about a file you just attached now waits until the file can be searched, instead of being answered from everything except that document. The chat says what it is waiting for, and one click asks right away.
  • When a file is still being processed, Piloti says so in its answer instead of presenting an incomplete answer as complete.
  • Opening a shared link that asks about a project file works again when the link carries the file's name. The chat now finds the file and shows its status instead of failing.
  • An dieser Stelle öffnen now appears only for sources Piloti can actually show. For a plan or a Word file the link used to close the window and do nothing else.
  • The description under Dateien is no longer squeezed into a narrow column of one or two words; the controls beside it wrap to a second line instead.
  • A file is found even when the answer spells its name with different capitals, or when it is an attachment uploaded in this chat.
  • A deep research no longer stops when Piloti briefly has no free slot to query a source. Only that one lookup is skipped, and the research carries on.
  • A long research that reports nothing for a while is no longer cut off as if it had died.
  • Answers no longer show source references that were removed during safety checks, and interactive answer cards stay in place even when one card cannot be displayed.
  • Deep research answers are now marked as preliminary when the research time runs out, instead of reading like fully verified results.
  • Long research jobs no longer write stray or duplicate messages into the chat when they are retried or time out in the background.
  • Deep research works in projects whose description contains German quotation marks or dashes. It used to fail right after starting.
  • Mentioning a colleague with @ now works from the very first moment of a new chat. The list of people used to stay empty for the rest of that chat.
  • Keyword matching now ignores words that appear in nearly every document, so a search no longer spends part of its results on a term that matches everything. Answers cite more of the documents that actually differ on the question, and searches that used to run an extra pointless lookup return a little sooner.
  • A Markdown note or a spreadsheet whose name contains „Plan“, such as „Projektplan.md“, no longer shows a floor plan on its card. The file format decides the thumbnail.
  • When a filter in Dateien matches nothing, the list now names the filter and offers the way back, instead of saying the project has no documents.
  • An empty Von Piloti filter explains what it would show: research reports and diagrams Piloti filed, not the documents you uploaded.
  • Project and archive uploads are no longer capped at 100 MB per upload, so a full Einreichung goes through; only your organization's storage quota applies.
  • The Herleitung no longer repeats the same source name, as in „RIS, RIS, RIS“. Each kind of work now appears once.
  • Building law now stays in the search when a question is about a specific file. „Erfüllt dieser Grundriss die Fluchtweganforderungen?“ used to search the plan and no Richtlinie.
  • A standard or product code typed in lowercase now matches the documents that write it in capitals, so a question about a specific code finds the same sources whichever way it is typed.
  • Dragging a file onto a folder no longer flickers or shows the upload overlay; the drop hint appears only for files from your computer.
  • Two files with the same name from different subfolders no longer silently overwrite each other during a folder upload; both are held back and named in the dialog.
  • The project file list now arrives with the page instead of loading folder by folder behind grey placeholders.
  • Folders in the list view are no longer tinted yellow, which read like a warning; a folder is recognised by its icon.
  • Uploading a folder again no longer reports every file with an umlaut in its name as new; Macs and Windows encode umlauts differently, and the whole folder used to be transferred twice.
  • Uploading the same file twice no longer processes it again when nothing has changed.
  • A file that matches an existing document under a different spelling is held back and shown next to that document, instead of becoming a second document. The dialog also names both names of a document renamed in Piloti.
  • Filtering the file browser no longer blanks the listing when files match; the empty notice only appears when the filter truly emptied it.
  • Loading placeholders no longer jump when content arrives, file states and error messages are readable instead of technical, failed operations stay visible longer, and the whole interface shares one consistent shape language in light and dark mode.
  • Loading views no longer jump when the real content arrives, error messages are clearly visible as errors, and status chips, search fields and viewer panels render consistently in light and dark mode.
  • The cited passage is highlighted in the document again, survives a reload, and „Zitat kopieren“ copies the quote rather than only the bibliographic reference.
  • Clicking a reference opens the document at the page the answer refers to, and a source lists only the pages the answer actually relies on.
  • Copied citations now name the point by which Austrian law is cited, as in „OIB-Richtlinie 2, Pkt. 3.5.2“, not only the page it is printed on.
  • A file uploaded during the conversation opens from the answer's source right away, and referenced files Piloti cannot display, such as Word documents or spreadsheets, can be downloaded from there.
  • A file whose name mentions an OIB-Richtlinie, such as your own commentary on it, is no longer merged with the Richtlinie into one source.
  • Long deep research reports can be downloaded as PDF again. If an export still fails, the message gives the reason.
  • If an answer really breaks off, Piloti now says so after about a minute instead of up to forty, and a running research is no longer reported as interrupted.
  • Laws in the RIS reader are shown in full. The text limit was shorter than the Bauordnung für Wien, so § 108 fell outside it.
  • In the Rechtsgrundlage card a long reference now sits on the line beside the Richtlinie instead of in the narrow margin, where it broke across seven lines.
  • Uploading a file with the same name again, such as a corrected plan, now replaces the existing one instead of creating a second copy that Piloti could no longer find. Storage is no longer counted twice.
  • The replaced document keeps its identity: references from answers, the link in the chat and its folder stay intact.
  • BMP and TIFF images show a preview again instead of saying none is available.
  • For a very long text file, a note under the text now says that only the beginning is shown, so the last visible line no longer reads like the end of the document.
  • When a reference's page number differs from the page in the PDF, as it often does after a cover sheet, the quoted passage is now also sought on the neighbouring pages. If it cannot be found, the window says so.
  • On a phone the opened citation no longer jumps past the highlighted passage, and the document name is no longer pushed aside by the copy buttons.

Piloti works properly on a phone. Answers can be downloaded as Word documents, diagrams are real drawings, and Excel, PowerPoint and CSV files can be uploaded and cited sheet by sheet.

New features

12
  • You can now tell a project which file is its Bebauungsplan, by uploading it right at the question in the project wizard or by picking a document already in the project. Piloti then refers to the plan by name.
  • Piloti knows which documents are still missing and answers accordingly. Without a Bebauungsplan it says so instead of answering as if it had read one.
  • Every answer can be downloaded as a Word document, with the question, the list of sources, the cards and the confidence note. The button sits next to the copy buttons under the answer.
  • Ask for a diagram, a Schaubild or a Grafik and Piloti answers with a real drawing, never with text art made of dashes and arrows.
  • „Erstelle ein Dokument über …“ now starts a deep research whose finished report is filed in the project under Berichte. If you only want a thorough answer, you still get it in the chat.
  • Deep research reports now draw too: sequences and dependencies appear as real graphics in the report and in the downloaded PDF.
  • You can now upload Excel workbooks, PowerPoint presentations, CSV files and WebP images. Answers cite the right sheet or slide rather than just the file.
  • Jobs and Skills now live together in one Automation section, as two tabs instead of two separate places in the sidebar — Jobs leads, since a job is the prompt this project runs on a timer, with Skills one click away.
  • Files now open the way a folder does anywhere else: click a folder to step into it, and a path at the top ("All Files › Brandschutz") shows exactly where you are and lets you click back out to any level above. Folders show up as cards right beside your files, at every level, not just at the top.
  • Piloti now learns from answers you mark as not helpful: each report is anonymised and becomes a lesson it reads on every later answer. Your feedback text stays in your organization; only the anonymised lesson leaves it.
  • The project wizard lists all its modules by full name beside the questions, each with how many answers it already has, and you can jump to any of them.
  • The new quick start asks only the core questions and records everything else as open, listed in the summary so you can fill it in later.

Improvements

39
  • Answers now appear as they are written, line by line, instead of landing on the page in one block. Long answers take no longer to read than before — the text is revealed at a pace set by its length — and the effect steps aside for anyone whose system asks for reduced motion.
  • Asked which OIB-Richtlinien it has, Piloti now lists every one of them, and it still names each of your own documents individually.
  • Copied answers keep their formatting: pasted into Word, Outlook or Notion they arrive with real tables, headings and emphasis instead of raw Markdown characters.
  • Tables in answers keep their column alignment, checklists show real ticks, and deeply structured answers keep every heading level.
  • The chat uses the width of the window: the conversation column is wider and answers fill it, and the header above it is smaller.
  • Starting a chat is now one continuous movement instead of a jump. Sending the first question glides the message box down to the bottom of the screen while the greeting fades away above it, so it stays clear that you are still typing into the same place.
  • The empty chat screen is quieter. The badge that labelled every new chat as a private workspace is gone, since every chat starts that way, and the controls above the greeting no longer sit in a panel with nothing opposite it.
  • Piloti asks a short multiple-choice question more often instead of silently picking one of several plausible directions, for example when a comparison names no criteria.
  • The message box no longer sits flush against your last answer. It now floats as its own translucent panel, with the conversation gently fading into it as you scroll, so it reads as a control you are typing into rather than another line of the chat.
  • The chat header no longer repeats the project name next to the conversation title, and its buttons are a touch smaller and quieter.
  • The message box at the bottom of a chat now has a thin grey outline, so it is easier to see where the typing area begins when a long conversation scrolls behind it.
  • Plans are read more precisely: each drawing on a sheet, such as a floor plan, a section or a detail, is captured with its own scale, rooms, structure and build-ups. Uncertain readings of the image are marked as such.
  • Plans uploaded as images get the same structured reading as plans in a PDF, and a file's detail view shows what was recognised on each drawing.
  • A new chat now opens with the greeting and the input box together in the middle of the screen, instead of the greeting floating high and the input pinned to the bottom edge. As soon as you ask something, the input returns to the bottom and the answer gets the full height.
  • The empty chat no longer offers example questions or explains that answers cite their sources, and the composer no longer states that a plain message goes to Piloti. Mentioning a colleague works exactly as before, and the composer still names the recipient whenever it is not Piloti — when you have tagged someone, or when the chat is waiting on a person.
  • Typing in the search field narrows the file list as you go, and Enter searches the full text of every project document. Each result shows the passage that matched and its page.
  • Dateien searches from its header now. The field sits with the controls that act on the same listing — the view switcher, the Alle / Meine / Nicht zugewiesen filter and Hochladen — so the documents start a row higher and there is one search on the page, not two places to look.
  • When the on-screen keyboard opens, the app now makes room for it instead of letting it cover the composer, so you can see what you are typing.
  • Project memory now takes your feedback into account: when a thumbs-down comment contradicts a stored note, that note is marked less reliable in your project. Nothing is deleted, and pinned notes are exempt.
  • Re-uploading a document under the same name now replaces its earlier version in the knowledge index instead of competing with it, so an answer can no longer cite a superseded upload with full confidence. A document under a new name is still treated as a new document — deciding that one file supersedes a differently-named one stays a human call.
  • The Inbox, the Archiv and the chat history now open as sheets you can pull down to close — drag the handle at the top, on your phone or with the mouse. Closing plays out smoothly instead of cutting away.
  • The chat history has been redesigned: it now looks and works like the Inbox and the Archiv, shows your deep-research runs alongside your chats, and lets you filter between the two.
  • The Archiv and the inbox now rise as a large panel over whatever you were looking at, instead of taking over the whole screen as a separate page. Open one from inside a project and the project stays visible underneath, so you never lose your place — close it and you are exactly where you left off.
  • Chat history now includes this project's deep-research runs in the same list as your conversations, grouped by day, with the research runs shown first. The project's separate History page is gone — everything it showed is in the chat history panel now.
  • Theme and language moved into their own submenus under your account menu — click Theme or Language to see the choices, instead of scrolling past all of them every time. The menu is shorter, and the current choice is always shown next to its name.
  • Above your projects, the sidebar is gone — the page you land on now uses the full width of your screen, with a slim header for the archive, inbox and your account menu.
  • Piloti is built for a phone now, not merely resized for one. The numbers and sources in an answer, the mentions in a shared thread, the steps of a card and the outline of a report are all sized for a fingertip, so checking where a requirement came from no longer takes three attempts on site.
  • Your phone's keyboard finally knows what each field is for: the key that sends a message says "send", the one that runs a search says "search", and a search box stops capitalising and autocorrecting what you type — so looking for a file by its exact name finds it.
  • Giving a thumbs-down with a short note is now the fastest way to improve answers for everyone: each report is matched against known failure patterns, and repeated reports strengthen the caution the assistant already follows.
  • The research plan now offers a middle way: besides Recherche starten and Abbrechen, Kurz beantworten answers your question at once without the research run of several minutes.
  • The plan preview is in your language, and after a click the card states your decision in words rather than as a technical keyword.
  • Piloti's project memory now recalls what is relevant to your question instead of simply the twenty most recent notes, and it recognises a note you have already saved even when it is worded differently — so the same fact stops being stored twice. Notes it keeps using stay fresh; notes nothing ever needs quietly fade into the background rather than crowding them out.
  • When a project has more notes than fit in one answer, Piloti now says so instead of silently showing a partial list, and pinned notes can no longer push everything else out of view.
  • Answers from deep research now benefit from the same platform-wide lessons as ordinary answers, so a mistake reported once is less likely to reappear in a long report.
  • Adding a comment to an answer you already marked as unhelpful now gives Piloti a second chance to learn from it — the extra detail is exactly what a bare thumbs-down was missing.
  • Folder tiles in the file browser now show how many items they hold and when they last changed, matching the file tiles beside them. The project navigation rail keeps Archiv and your inbox pinned at the bottom, so the project work above them stays uncluttered.
  • Images inside PDFs are now read as thoroughly as whole plan pages, so a scanned plan embedded in a PDF is captured drawing by drawing with its own scale.
  • In a file's detail view you can expand what was recognised: rooms, circulation, structure, services, build-ups and key figures, each marked as labelled on the drawing or derived from it.
  • A sheet that mixes a floor plan, a section, a chart and a photo has each part recognised and read on its own terms. Values read off a chart are stored with their meaning.

Fixes

31
  • An answer can once again carry more than one card. Building a card counted against the same budget as looking things up, so on any question that took real research the second card was dropped before it was drawn, however well it fitted the answer.
  • Buttons on code blocks and time stamps on chat errors now follow the language you set, and Chinese, Japanese or Korean input methods can confirm characters with Enter without sending the message.
  • After you answer a clarifying question, a note at the bottom of the chat now shows that Piloti is still working. The chat used to look finished while the answer was still coming.
  • Diagrams now reliably appear as drawings in the answer. A requested diagram could be missing even though the answer announced it.
  • Diagrams in answers arrive intact. The source check could rewrite links and indentation inside a drawing and break it.
  • Diagrams in an answer are drawn again instead of appearing as a block of code. A diagram whose source was written without a language label was printed as a shell listing, and one whose labels were in quotation marks was also broken outright by the note that marks an unverified quotation.
  • An answer containing a diagram is no longer marked low confidence because of it. The words inside a diagram were being checked as if they were quotations from a source, so a well-supported answer lost its rating for drawing a picture.
  • Word documents are read correctly and can be cited in answers. They used to be accepted on upload and then marked as failed.
  • A filed Recherchebericht now always lands in the project the research was actually run for. If you started a run outside a project, or reopened an older run while a different project was open, the report could previously be filed somewhere it did not belong — carrying a cover sheet naming that other project's Bundesland, which is the line that says which Bauordnung the report was checked against.
  • Files Piloti writes no longer misspell their own names. A report on „Fluchtweglängen Gebäudeklasse 4" is now saved as fluchtweglaengen-gebaeudeklasse-4, the way you would write it yourself and the way you would search for it a year later, and a client name with a Polish or Czech letter in it survives intact.
  • A report Piloti wrote can no longer be mistaken for one of your own documents when the two happen to share a name. Search results, file summaries, tags, page details and renaming now always act on the document you actually opened, and deleting a report can no longer take the corresponding Gutachten out of what Piloti can cite.
  • Opening a file on a phone shows its name again. In the file preview, long filenames and the „Von Piloti erstellt" line were being squeezed out by the row of buttons beside them.
  • Administrators can invite colleagues to a project again. Invitations failed for some administrator roles.
  • Asking Piloti in a project now needs the chat permission everywhere, including in an existing conversation. Replying to a colleague in a shared conversation is not affected.
  • On a phone, the reasoning trace under an answer used to swallow every swipe: a finger anywhere on it moved nothing, so you could not scroll past it to read the answer itself. The trace now scrolls like the rest of the page.
  • Card headers with buttons in them no longer run past the edge of a narrow screen. Where there is not room for the title and the buttons on one line, the buttons move underneath.
  • On a phone, the search box or button beside a project section's heading now sits below it, so the explanation gets the full width. It used to break to one word per line.
  • The chat history no longer claims your chats live only in this browser. They are saved to your workspace and available on any device you sign in from.
  • A Viewer opening a project's chat now sees the composer locked with the reason, instead of typing a question and watching it fail on send. The member roster reports the role each person really holds, instead of rounding narrower roles down to "Viewer".
  • A project whose creation failed part-way is no longer left behind unreachable by the person who created it.
  • Access to every project in your organization is now a permission of the administrator role, not a matter of a role called Admin. A custom administrator role reaches projects like the built-in one.
  • Project roles now mean what the access reference says: the Contributor role can be assigned and may use Piloti in the project. A Viewer reads documents and conversations but can no longer start research.
  • Project admins can create and run scheduled skills again. Only organization admins could do so after a permission was renamed.
  • Copying your own message and removing an attached source were impossible on a touch device. Both controls only appeared when a mouse hovered over them, which a phone cannot do, so they were invisible on every tablet and phone.
  • The file list in a project and in the Archiv no longer has to be dragged sideways to read a document's name. Long filenames now shorten to fit the screen instead of stretching the list past the edge of it.
  • Typing into any field on an iPhone or iPad no longer zooms the page in and leaves it there. This affected tablets everywhere and phones when renaming a conversation, a file or a building in the project wizard.
  • The controls for zooming a cited PDF were laid out past the right-hand edge of a phone screen, where they could not be reached. They now wrap onto a second line when the screen is narrow.
  • A deep research started from the chat now runs in the background: it appears under Recherchen, shows its progress and files its finished report in the project.
  • Opening a project's Automation tab no longer crashes.
  • When a project holds more files than Piloti can survey at once, it now says so. Asked which files are in the project, it used to present a shortened list as complete.
  • Choosing Anmelden on the Piloti website now leads to the sign-in page of this environment again. Visitors on piloti.at were previously sent to the separate development environment to log in, where their accounts are not at home; signing in directly in the app was never affected.

Upgrade notes

1
  • Questions about the existing building, such as year of construction, heritage protection and structural work, now belong to each building rather than to the whole project. Projects with one building keep their answers; with several, you assign them once.

Other

2
  • The data source picker in the message box is hidden for now; Piloti draws on every available source, and the Herleitung still shows which ones it used.
  • The Archiv entry has moved out of the profile menu. It stays one click away in the sidebar and the organization header.

Research reports are filed in your project under Berichte and say that Piloti wrote them. Project folders can be renamed, moved and deleted, and Piloti knows which folder a document is in. This changelog started this week.

New features

22
  • Skills can now say whether Piloti may pick them on its own. Switch off Agent may pick this and the skill only runs when you call it with a slash or attach it to a job.
  • Two new skills start switched on for chat: Einreichcheck lists what a building-permit application still lacks in your province, and Bestand lists what still binds after a conversion, a change of use or a larger renovation.
  • Asking for a full Soll-Ist or Konformitaetspruefung now runs the staged check against this project, instead of walking the six Richtlinien by hand.
  • A deep research run that reaches its time or step limit now hands you what it did find, clearly marked as incomplete, instead of failing with an error and losing the work. The answer says that the research stopped early and why, so you can decide whether to ask again or use what is there.
  • You can preview the report as a PDF before you download it, in a panel you can drag as wide as you need. What you see is the document you get.
  • Folders in a project's Files can now be renamed, moved and deleted, not only created. Hovering a folder in the tree reveals its own ⋯ menu: Rename turns the row into a text field right where the name already is, and Delete asks once before removing it.
  • Deleting a folder never deletes what was filed in it. The confirmation names where things go — "Its 4 documents and 1 subfolder are not deleted — they move to Brandschutz" — and the documents and any subfolders are re-filed into the folder above before the folder itself is removed, with a toast afterwards repeating the count.
  • Piloti now knows how you filed your project documents: it can say what is in Brandschutz, name the folder when it points at a file, and search one folder including its subfolders. Renaming or moving a folder updates what it sees without re-uploading anything.
  • A filter beside „Alle · Meine · Unvergeben" shows only what Piloti wrote, so a project's generated reports are one click away however they were filed.
  • A finished Recherchebericht now lands in your project instead of only in the chat. You will find it under „Berichte", where you can open it, preview it, download it and delete it like any other file — and share it with the people on the project without copying anything out.
  • A report arrives „Unvergeben" — it belongs to nobody until somebody takes it on. Assigning it to yourself is the moment it becomes your work, and the same sweep you already use before an Einreichung will find any report nobody has claimed.
  • The banner names where a report will be filed while the research is starting, when you can still stop it, and links to the finished file with „Im Projekt öffnen“. If nothing could be filed, it promises nothing.
  • Every file Piloti writes says so. In the app it carries the line „Von Piloti erstellt", and the Word export opens with „KI-generiert — nicht geprüft", so a document that leaves your hands still says what it is.
  • A document can now be moved to another folder with Move to folder in its ⋯ menu. Each destination is listed by its full path, and All Files takes it out of every folder.
  • Moving a document also tells Piloti where it went, so an answer that mentions where a document lives follows the move immediately, with nothing re-indexed.
  • Piloti can now draw a procedure. Where an answer turns on a sequence a paragraph cannot hold — who hands what to whom, a step that sends you back a stage, a Nachweis that two others wait on — it returns a drawing beside the text, and one click files that drawing into the project as an SVG and a PDF you can attach to an Einreichung.
  • Drawings never carry a measurement. A Schnitt, a Treppe, a Fluchtweg or ein Abstand still comes back as one of the fifteen technical schematics, where Piloti supplies the values and the drawing is computed from them, so the picture cannot disagree with its own numbers.
  • Whether Piloti may file the documents it writes into a project is now a permission of its own, File agent-authored documents. Members without it can still upload, rename and delete their own files.
  • Piloti now publishes a changelog. Every change you can notice in the product is written down in plain language and appears at piloti.at/changelog, in German and English, on the day it ships.
  • Follow-up questions now appear under every substantive answer, instead of only on the answers Piloti happened to offer them on. They arrive a moment after the answer and sit below it rather than inside it, so they never move the text you are reading.
  • The website now shows what Piloti is worth to an office before anyone signs anything. Enter how many planners would use it and what they earn, and the calculation gives the value per year, the hours it hands back and how quickly a seat pays for itself.
  • Every step behind that figure is published with it: which numbers are our assumptions, which are yours, what a planner's week is assumed to look like, and what the calculation deliberately leaves out.

Improvements

12
  • Answers on fire safety, site rules, stairs and energy now follow a worked method instead of restating numbers from the guideline. Each skill is described in one sentence, so the slash menu is readable.
  • Forecast and prediction-report skills no longer ride along on every deep research run. They sit on the Skills tab for the jobs that actually need them.
  • The exported report is now presented as a Piloti document, with a cover page, a running header and page numbers, and it includes the answer cards that until now existed only on screen.
  • A note that research was cut off, or that an answer came out weaker than usual, now stays with the answer when you reopen the conversation later. Previously that caveat was visible only while the run was live, so a partial answer read as a complete one the next morning.
  • A deleted document, or one you can no longer open, now says so in the preview instead of offering a retry that cannot work. One click stops the question about it.
  • Asking Piloti about a file from Dateien no longer blinks: the file stays on screen while the chat loads beside it.
  • Closing the preview is never one-way: with the ✕, Escape or by dragging it shut, a tab stays at the edge and brings the document back at the width you chose.
  • The file preview beside a chat now says when Piloti cannot use the document yet: a file still being indexed, or one whose indexing failed, carries that line under its name instead of looking like a file that is ready. It clears itself when indexing finishes, and a failure links to the detail view.
  • The preview now shows what Piloti made of the document, its indexed summary, under the document itself. A file without an inline preview offers its download instead.
  • The file preview can be made much wider than before, wide enough for an A3 plan at a readable zoom, and remembers the width you set.
  • A document whose indexing failed can be sent back through it from its own card: Retry indexing is in the ⋯ menu, beside rename and delete, wherever the failure is shown. Until now the card told you it had failed and the only retry was two clicks inside a viewer you had no reason to open.
  • The navigation rail can be resized by dragging its right edge, and it opens at the width you chose. Dragging it all the way in folds it to the icon column.

Fixes

21
  • Cards no longer show stray formatting characters, such as a link printed as raw brackets next to the card's own working link. The only links a card offers are the ones it builds from the source it names.
  • Less-than-or-equal and greater-than-or-equal signs printed as stray letters in exported PDFs. A limit written as at most forty metres appeared with the comparator replaced by an unrelated character, while the number beside it stayed correct.
  • Sources from the building-regulations knowledge base were not marked as cited in the sources panel during a deep research run, so a report citing several Richtlinien appeared to rest on far fewer sources than it did.
  • A source could be shown as cited before it had been checked, and stayed marked that way even when the check later removed it from the answer. The panel now reports only what survived verification.
  • The file preview beside a chat can be resized again. The divider used to stop after about twenty pixels and now follows the pointer across the whole row.
  • Assigning someone to a file now says when it did not work, names the person and offers to try again. A refused assignment used to change nothing on screen, which read as success.
  • The file list waits in the shape it will arrive in. Loading and searching drew card placeholders even when you were in the detail view, so the list appeared only after a flash of tiles that were never going to be there.
  • Upload errors are now written in the language you use, as one sentence: too large, wrong type, already added, or no room left. A rejected file used to put an English clause into a German message.
  • The folder chips above the file list in Dateien are readable again. In projects with a long file list they were squeezed until the folder names were cut through the middle.
  • A semantic search over your files or the Archiv that could not run — the index unreachable, the request timed out — was reported as "no matches for …", which is a statement about your own documents that the app had no way of making. It now says the search failed and offers to run the same query again, instead of asking you to start over.
  • Searching your files keeps the view you chose, list or cards. In the list, relevance is a sortable column and each row shows the passage that matched and its page.
  • Keyboard navigation in the file list keeps your place instead of jumping back to the first row. Home and End jump to either end of the list.
  • The upload panel no longer retires itself out from under you. A wholly successful batch still clears after a few seconds, but the countdown holds while your pointer is on the panel or your keyboard focus is inside it.
  • When a deep-research run promised to file its report in the project and the filing then failed, the banner said nothing at all — so the report looked filed and „Berichte" was empty. It now takes the promise back in one quiet line, and the report itself is still there in the research panel either way.
  • Re-uploading or re-processing a document no longer discards its name, its document type or its folder. Re-generating a summary quietly reset everything stored alongside it, so a renamed file went back to its raw file name the next time it was processed.
  • A diagram filed into a project now says inside the file that Piloti drew it, in the SVG's title and in the PDF's document properties. A filed drawing that leaves the office can no longer pass for one a person drew.
  • Signing in from the Piloti website works again. Visitors who chose Anmelden on piloti.at were shown an error screen instead of the login page and could not reach the app; they now land on the normal sign-in flow as intended.
  • „Piloti hat sich gemerkt" now belongs to the answer it appeared under. It used to count everything noted anywhere in the conversation, so an early answer ended up claiming notes that were taken much later; each answer now shows only what that answer produced, and an answer that produced nothing shows nothing.
  • Notes taken after an answer show up as soon as they exist. Piloti used to look for them a few times right after the answer arrived and then stop, so a note that took a moment longer stayed invisible until something else on the page changed.
  • Piloti no longer keeps project notes from an answer that was cut short. A question that ran out of research budget before it was fully answered used to leave notes behind that read like settled facts.
  • A slow model provider can no longer stop Piloti from taking notes at all. The step that records what a conversation established now gives up on its own and works again on the very next question, instead of going quiet for everyone until the service was restarted.

Upgrade notes

6
  • Only runs you start yourself file a report at the moment. Scheduled runs still deliver into their conversation and will follow later.
  • Reports from runs finished before this change stay where they were, in their conversation. Nothing was filed retroactively.
  • Nothing Piloti writes can be filed unmarked any more: the filing service reads the finished file and refuses one that does not say who wrote it. Files already in a project are unchanged; file a drawing again to get a marked copy.
  • The built-in Project Editor and Project Admin roles receive the new filing permission. Grant it to a custom project role yourself, or leave it out if Piloti should only answer.
  • Follow-up questions in older conversations stay exactly where they were, inside the answer. Nothing was regenerated and nothing was removed — the two positions are simply what changed, and old threads keep their chips.
  • A finished deep-research report no longer carries follow-up questions. The new step runs on chat answers, and a report is written after the chat turn has already ended.

Other

1
  • Piloti does not read its own reports back, so an answer never cites a Piloti report as if it were a document you supplied. To use a report in later answers, upload it yourself once you have checked it.
